I am a resident of 182nd street and support the calming enhancements. I would ask that the painted lines are extended to 10’ instead of 8’ so people can exit their cars more safely. I like the idea of the new signs and appreciate that you are concerned for the safety of the residents.
I agree with the other neighbors that there should be caution signs for children at play and residential driveways.
Thank you for your consideration and dedication for keeping Redondo safe.

I support the proposed calming measures to 182nd St. My neighbors and I believe that the enlarged signs, combined with the radar feedback signs and edge line striping will help reduce the speed and enhance safety on this portion of the road. We are critical access to two of the largest RBUSD middle and elementary school campuses and many students walk to school along this street. We must do all we can to slow the traffic and REDUCE THE VOLUME of cars on this street. It is very dangerous as is.This being said, and as other neighbors and homeowners have mentioned , a 10 ft parking lane would be adequate room to safety park and get our children in and out of our cars(opposed to current 8 foot suggestion). We would also like a request a dedicated bike lane be added adjacent to the parking lane.
The above mentioned enhancements only cover the speed concerns on 182nd St. There needs to be more done to address the sheer VOLUME of cars on this two lane neighborhood street. Neighbors would like to blockade the eastbound lane at the rail tracks. This would protect from the volume of cut through traffic and noise pollution in our neighborhood. As is, the eastbound lane is a freeway onramp and is ever increasing. When the train goes by, traffic backs up to Inglewood and it is near impossible to get out of our driveways. A blockade like other streets in Redondo have successfully advocated for, would make our street safer, reduce cut through traffic, and greatly enhance the quality of life of this neighborhood and adjacent cemetery.
Lastly, I agree with other neighbors suggestions of signs informing drivers "CAUTION children at play", and "residential driveways" (Adams middle schools hosts a plethora of sports and activities where children are walking) combined with the aforementioned school foot traffic. These signs would again alert drivers that caution needs to be made when utilizing this street.
Thank you for helping to make this street safer for the children and families in our neighborhood and local students and school staff.

I support the proposed Calming Enhancements on 182nd street. It is great ideas to have new oversize speed limit signs with radar feedback digital signs. Painted edge lines should be 10 feet instead of 8 feet so that we can have some spaces to open our car door without worrying about getting hit. I have kids to go school walking on 182nd street and I feel very anxious about their safety because some cars speed so fast. I'm very thankful that you are considering and helping us to calm this traffic. Thank you for your hard work!

As a resident on 182nd Street, I support the proposed Calming Enhancements. I would propose to increase that safety buffer zone indicated by the white painted strip to 10 feet rather than 8 feet. When we measured the street, 8 feet is at the very edge of a parked mid-sized SUV, so it does not protect someone getting out of a vehicle.

Also, if there is more more between the side of the road and the white line, more bikes would feel safe using the street rather than the sidewalk to go east on 182nd Street. There has been a marked increase in cyclists since summer of 2020, and it would further increase the safety for pedestrians and cyclists if they had space on the street to ride rather than to have to use the sidewalk.

Thank you all immensely for researching the traffic on our street and possibilities to help calm it. We are forever grateful for the protection you are providing our community!

I support the intent and direction of the proposed mitigations to calm traffic on 182nd St. between Inglewood Ave and the rail tracks, however I believe with very little more effort this residential strip can be made even safer for the families who live there and their children.

I support the idea of larger speed limit signs, which is very good, but what would really help further is adding just one more sign that reads:
    CAUTION
    Residential Driveways
    CHILDREN
At Play (with kids at play graphic)

I support the painted edgeline but for safety purposes for homeowners, parked cars and moving traffic, the width for parked cars needs to be the standard 10 feet which will still leave a generous, standard sized lane for a more speed conscious stream of traffic.

Thank you for working on this and for the discussion. Also thanks for your consideration.
