City Council Member Zein Obagi here. I write in support of the designs by Ms. Robinson and Eric Michael. They are both beautiful. I also write because we have so many utility boxes on Artesia Blvd. Yall have done a great job in wrapping a couple of them. Thanks for that. I ask you to concentrate on the area between Inglewood and Aviation. This area needs more love than the rest of Redondo. It is far behind in many regards. Outside of Dave's Ole Bookshop, however, there are 3 utility boxes. I ask that you direct staff to ask an artist to do 'books are fun in the sun/at the beach/ in the library' themed designs to "placemake" that area around the small business that is there- Redondo Beach's only bookstore. I realize yall are going 1 box per district - but ARTesia is supposed to A-R-T -esia per the AACAP. So it would be great if we could disproportionately advance art on ARTesia, then cover the rest of the City. This is where without great expense, we could show a little extra love to North Redondo, and show that it is not neglected. Thank you for your public service on our Art Commission.
