On behalf of the League of Women’s Voters of the Beach

Cities, we are pleased with the timeliness and importance of providing

supportive housing in Redondo Beach. We

appreciate the politically challenging and difficult work that the staff has done

to work to find a solution to end illegal encampments. We

urge you to find a solution to this very pressing issue that will be good for

the residents in need, as well as the entire community.

This project meets all of our zoning requirements and will provide much needed housing in our region. Let's not needlessly delay this project. Neighbors make our community. This will bring us 36 new families to strengthen our community.

I support the Foundry project as a valuable addition to Redondo Beach, We need to reimagine sites around the City that beg for redevelopment, and high-quality housing like this is a great way to meet that need. As an additional benefit, the City can count these new units towards the State-imposed requirement to increase housing. I urge you to deny the appeal. Brandon Straus, Redondo Beach resident.

As a member of this neighborhood, I'd like to voice my support for this project, as well as others in our neighborhood, who also believe this project would add value to our neighborhood. (Adopt Resolution No. CC-2009-068 denying the appeal and approving the project) This would replace an industrial facility, that appears to have sat dormant for quite some time, with upscale housing that would provide excellent homes for new neighbors, as well as, add value to other home owners in the neighborhood by increasing the overall home values of our existing properties. We would urge the council to approve this project to move forward, which we feel strongly adds a good deal of value to our neighborhood, where it does not exist today with a legacy industrial business. Sincerely, Larry Nelson, Redondo Beach
