This is regarding adding a driveway coming out onto 190th for the new homes being built. It was determined by the transportation department I believe that it would be too dangerous. It would not be anymore dangerous than lamps plus' driveway which is one building away from Hawthorne Blvd and Our driveway (Sun Harbour Apt) which is right next to that driveway. Sun Harbour has only one exit on one of our driveways (the south driveway) and the exit faces the driveway that the houses would use. It isn't a wide street, so add parking on each side of the street. add people leaving for work from our building and people leaving at the same time from the homes, cars parked on both sides and having to exit at one corner. It will be a safety issue. I already can't turn out onto the street when cars are parked on both side of Fisk. What if a fire truck or ambulance needs to get here?
We also need to address moving vans. We have moving vans here often, people moving in handout of the new homes will also have moving vans. Those vans will take up a large part of the street. I have seen a line of cars around the corner from 190th because a truck of some kind was parked in the middle of the street. There just is not enough room on Fisk to handle the additional vehicle traffic. There does need to be exits onto 190th for the new homes. I support the new homes, there just needs to be a safer exit plan for everyone involved. Thank You. Jill Laue, Manager of Sun Harbour Apts.
