Hello my name is Kateri Wood and I reside at 3309 Johnston Ave in Redondo Beach which is the residential neighborhood across from Impulse Space.

It is my understanding that Impulse announced publicly in March of 2023 that they would be relocating their headquarters to 2651 Manhattan Beach Blvd in Redondo Beach.
At that time and as of today the property is zoned as IC-1which according to city zoning is for light industrial uses. In stating this as a IC-1 zone under the Redondo Beach Code of Ordinances, Title 10 Planning and Zoning, Chapter 2, Aritcle2, Division 8 Industrial Zones section 10-2. 1000 outlines the general purposes of how the property shall be used.

In The zoning code section 10-2. 1000 there are three paragraphs that I would like addressed and reviewed before there is further discussion on granting Impulse the variance they are seeking.

They read as follows on the city website-
    (c)
Provide a suitable environment for light industrial uses, and protect them from the adverse impacts of inharmonious uses
    (e)
Ensure that the appearance and effects of industrial and commercial uses are compatible with the character of the area in which they are located
    (f)
Minimize the impact of industrial and commercial uses on adjacent residential zones

Until these items have been reviewed I oppose the granting of a height variance to Impulse. I believe at that this time we as residents still require more reviews of the zoning ordinances.

    Thank you,

    Kateri Wood
