I support the outdoor dining decks in the riviera village. Compared to neighboring beach cities like Hermosa and Manhattan, Redondo Beach has lots of parking options. I feel outdoor dining does more good to local businesses than the parking it would replace.

I am writing to show support to keep outdoor dining in Redondo beach. I have so many friends from different parts of Los Angeles that come down to the riveria because they enjoy sitting outside close to the water. They always say they feel like they are on vacation. It is such a special place. I believe it would take away business from the stores and restaurants if outdoor dining was removed. The crowds have grown significantly with the outdoor dining option. It would not provide that much more parking. Most people I know do not park by the restaurants when they are going to the beach. There is a huge lot by the dolphin statue that extends down toward Palos Verdes that is always empty. Parking for the beach has never been an issue in the Riveria.

I strongly support keeping the outdoor dining decks in Riviera Village. As a Redondo resident who frequents the area I love having the option to sit outside. It allows the businesses to accommodate more customers and I have not experienced any trouble parking in the many times I drive there. The few spaces it takes up do not hinder accessibility for drivers and there are many options for Lyft Uber and biking. I think it adds character to the area and makes it more appealing to visit, especially during nice weather which we have basically year round

I support the outdoor dining in Redondo Beach and think it’s beneficial to the community for many reasons.

I strongly support keeping the outdoor dining deck program in place. These outdoor dining areas help local restaurants remain viable, especially during a time when businesses continue to face high costs and ongoing economic pressure. Preserving this program is not just good for restaurants, it is good for the entire downtown and commercial community.

More business means more tax revenue for Redondo Beach. When restaurants succeed, they generate sales tax, support employees, and attract more customers who also spend money at nearby businesses. Outdoor dining helps create the kind of lively, attractive atmosphere that brings people into our commercial areas and encourages them to stay longer, dine more often, and support other local establishments as well. That increased activity benefits the city overall.

Our city is fortunate to have great weather most of the year, and outdoor dining makes sense here. It is one of the features that helps make Redondo Beach special and welcoming. Taking it away would reduce the vibrancy of our neighborhoods and make it harder for small businesses to survive.

If parking is a concern, there are many other ways people can access the area, including by bike, walking, public transit, taxi, or ride-share services like Uber and Lyft. In a coastal community like ours, we should be encouraging a mix of transportation options rather than limiting a successful program that supports local businesses and city revenue.

Please support keeping the outdoor dining deck program in place! I would hate our city to turn into a city with many vacancies because businesses cannot survive.

Please extend the existing outdoor dining area at Riviera Village! This area offers a convenient and comfortable dining opportunity, especially for families with young children and pets to be able to enjoy outdoors. This also allows businesses to expand. The few added parking spaces pale in comparison to the hundreds of patrons who are able to utilize the outdoor dining areas.
