Following both an AI analysis of the city's bus shelters and a hand review, there appear to be NO OTHER BUS STOPS similar to the one at BCHD and N. Prospect frontage. No other bus stop is "islanded" between two, functioning, operating streets. In some cases, the bus stop has a parking lot behind it, however, that is not City jurisdictional (see Artesia Blvd stops for example).
Given the literal uniqueness (population of 1) of the bus stop across from roughly 509 N. Prospect, I request that the curb be striped red to create visibility.
The hazards are plenty:
--High speed Prospect 4-lane to the east of the bus shelter.
--One way Prospect frontage to the west of the bus shelter.
--No sidewalk on the east side of the Frontage road to use to access the bus shelter.
--No crosswalk from the shelter to the west and only sidewalk on the frontage.
--Cars parked on the one-way frontage obstructing vision and visibility of bus shelter users (see See https://highways.dot.gov/safety/pedestrian-bicyclist/pedestrian-safety-guide-transit-agencies/chapter-3-actions-increase for clear guidance on removing parked cars and shrubbery for pedestrian safety)
--The LA County child predator investigation(s) at a house nearby the frontage per former Dir. Semaan's email.
As I suggested previously, I will donate to the City to cover the paint and labor to get this safety hazard corrected, removing any impediment to the City's prompt action.
Should any accident, molestation, etc. occur in the future, it will not be for lack of the neighborhood removing roadblocks from City action
