At a recent meeting Jim Mueller brought up the topic of creating a farmer's market in North Redondo. I support his idea. Since posting about this on the facebook pages Unify Redondo and North Redondo, many residents of North Redondo have indicated that they want a farmers' market to be a fixture in our area -- since other parts of the South Bay have farmers' markets. We have parks in NRB that could accommodate this -- such as Anderson Park, Perry Park, and the Redondo Performing Arts Center. Our City Council, Planning Commission and whoever else should come to our assistance and help facilitate this for our residents. Our residents need a farmers' market in NRB where they can buy healthy locally grown food in a friendly fun outdoor setting that is located in our part of the city. Local artists, craftsmen, jewelry makers and others could sell their wares at this farmer's market. It would be an opportunity for residents to remain local when shopping for healthy locally grown foods and avoid driving to other beach cities' farmer's markets. The farmer's market would be a wholesome addition to NRB, an additional place for socializing and would attract more diners to our local restaurants. Let's pursue this and make it a reality !
