The city should give careful consideration to the chaos that can ensue from allowing an already crowded street to be overwhelmed when the parents of 'up to 100' students descend upon the neighborhood. They will park everywhere; including spots reserved for the apartment building or neighboring businesses, randomly cross Ave D and not use a crosswalk, and otherwise tie up an already crowded street with unwanted traffic. People turning onto Ave D from PCH are driving fast and not mindful and so the risk of injuring a jaywalking student/parent increases. Further, the church feeds the needy twice a week, and for a good 90 minute stretch in the middle of the day, the smell of weed permeates the air. Not exactly an ideal environment for children. Overall, just not a good idea.
