Nice to see some seasoned professional and worthy submissions. Another breath of fresh air seeing some attractive art, even with too much detail for practical use but still nice to look at, but illustraions can’t be logos.
I hope we end up with something suitable and *less polarizing* than the proposed design that was met with such opposition. A seasoned designer should be able to take feedback and follow through developing further to satisfy concerns. Not enough went into their “explorations”, for instance color which was a big concern by many.
This logo is clearly important to the people who love this city and call it their hometown. It would be a shame to ignore public feedback and force something that makes so many people unhappy. Please listen and consider. Pay particular attention to the professional layouts showing different translations for across the board use.
What we the people need is a professional CREATIVE DIRECTOR to review and select finalists. That would be fair.
As for the mean comments, it’s a thing of beauty to see submissions by kids. Those commenters discredit themselves by being so mean Thanks.
Clearly, you get what you paid for. The Stellen logo you paid for is still the best option. All the other submittals to this “competition” are either cheap clip art, a plagiarism/riff of the Stellen Design’s logo, or some elementary school art class crayon drawing. Yes, the mayor’s submittal and others…Enough.

No one has made a compelling argument to change the logo, other than some half-baked idea about having a little TM(Trademark) on there.
Keep hearing that a kid should be able to draw it. Pretty sure a kid could handle the current logo.
